Prefer to shape your private event from the ground up? Our Build Your Own Event option lets you start with venue hire and then add the food, décor and extras that suit your day.
This is ideal if you want the rooftop setting and standard venue inclusions, but prefer to customise your menu, styling and event details instead of choosing a preset package.

How many guests can the venue accommodate?
Roof Garden Bar can host up to 150 seated guests or 250 guests for a cocktail-style event.
Do we have to choose one of the event packages?
No. You can choose one of our curated private event packages, build your own event, or enquire about venue hire only. The Build Your Own Event option allows you to select your menu, décor, canapés, welcome drinks and optional extras separately.
Is venue hire available on its own?
Yes. Venue hire only is available and includes our standard venue inclusions, such as venue staff, key furniture, bar facilities, security, car guards and cleaners. Food, décor, canapés, welcome drinks and optional extras can be added and quoted separately if required.
Is catering included?
Catering depends on the option you choose. Our curated private event packages include selected menu options, while Build Your Own Event bookings allow you to choose from the available menu options and shape your food around your event.
Can we customise the décor or styling?
Yes. You can choose from one of the available décor styles or work with our team to create a setup that suits your event, theme or brief. Décor options depend on your selected package or Build Your Own Event requirements.
Is there a licensed bar on site?
Yes. Roof Garden Bar has a fully stocked and licensed cash bar on site. Please note that no outside alcohol may be brought into or taken out of the venue.
Can we bring our own wine, champagne or cake?
Yes. Bottles of wine and champagne may be brought in at a corkage fee of R40 per bottle. Celebration cakes are welcome at no extra cost.
Do you offer dance floor hire?
Yes. Dance floor options can be added as an optional extra where they are not already included. Options include a white dance floor, wooden dance floor or checkered dance floor.
The white dance floor is included in selected packages.
What optional extras are available?
Optional extras may include canapés, welcome drinks, dance floor options, DJ sound setup, DJ services, a photo booth and other event extras. These can be selected during the enquiry process and quoted according to your requirements.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
At the moment, access to the venue is via stairs only, and there is no lift access.
Is there parking for guests?
Yes. The venue offers 80 off-street parking spaces for guests, with car guards on site for added safety and security.
What time can we access the venue for setup?
A day rental runs from 10am on the day of the event until 10am the following day. If you need additional setup or breakdown time, that can be arranged at an extra charge.
What time does the event need to end?
Events can run until 11:30pm. Noise must be reduced by 11pm and switched off completely by 11:30pm, and guests must exit the property by 11:30pm.
What is already included at the venue?
The venue includes standard venue staff, key furniture, a standard PA system, bar facilities, security, car guards and cleaners. Selected packages may also include additional food, décor and event extras.
Can the venue accommodate speeches, music or special moments?
Yes. With sound, lighting and smart TVs included, the venue is well suited to speeches, music and the moments that make a celebration memorable.
Do you assist with event coordination?
Our team can assist with venue-related coordination and setup logistics to help your event run smoothly.
How do we check if our event date is available?
The best way is to submit an event enquiry through the form on this page, and a member of our team will confirm availability with you.
How do we secure our booking?
A signed venue rental agreement and a 50% non-refundable venue rental payment are required to secure your date.
What happens if we need to cancel?
Cancellation refunds depend on how far in advance the cancellation is made. The refund amount will be handled according to the cancellation terms set out in the venue rental agreement.
