A few helpful answers to common questions about hosting a public event at Roof Garden Bar.
How many guests can the venue accommodate?
Roof Garden Bar can host up to 150 seated guests or 250 guests for a cocktail-style event.
Is catering included, or can we bring our own?
You can choose from the venue’s catering options, or bring in your own caterer to suit your event.
Can we customise the décor or styling?
Yes. You can choose from one of the available décor styles or work with the team to create a setup that suits your event, theme or brief.
Is there a licensed bar on site?
Yes, Roof Garden Bar has a licensed bar on site. Please note that no outside alcohol may be brought into or taken out of the venue.
Can we bring our own wine, champagne or cake?
Yes, bottles of wine and champagne may be brought in at a corkage fee of R40 per bottle. Celebration cakes are welcome at no extra cost.
Do you offer dance floor hire?
Yes. A 4 x 4 white, chequered or wooden dance floor can be added to the Ivy Essential Package for R2500 ex VAT. A white dance floor is already included in the Radiant Rose and Lily Luxe packages.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
At the moment, access to the venue is via stairs only, and there is no lift access.
Is there parking for guests?
Yes, the venue offers 80 off-street parking spaces for guests.
What time can we access the venue for setup?
A day rental runs from 10am on the day of the event until 10am the following day. If you need additional setup or breakdown time, that can be arranged at an extra charge.
What time does the event need to end?
Events can run until 11:30pm. Noise must be reduced by 11pm and switched off completely by 11:30pm, and guests must exit the property by 11:30pm.
What is already included at the venue?
The venue includes core furniture, a general PA system with mic and podium, standard draping, fairy lights, par can lights, smart TVs, champagne glasses and water jugs.
Can the venue accommodate DJs, live music or announcements?
Yes. With sound, lighting and smart TVs included, the venue is well suited to DJs, live music, announcements and hosted events.
Do you assist with event coordination?
Our team can assist with setup logistics and event coordination to help your event run smoothly.
How do we check if our event date is available?
The best way is to submit an event enquiry through the form on this page, and a member of our team will confirm availability with you.
How do we secure our booking?
A signed venue rental agreement and a 50% non-refundable venue rental payment are required to secure the date. The balance must be settled 7 days before the event.
What happens if we need to cancel?
Cancellation refunds depend on how far in advance the cancellation is made. The booking form outlines the refund structure, from 90% if cancelled a year or more in advance, down to no refund if cancelled 2 months or less before the event.
