How many guests can the venue accommodate?
Roof Garden Bar can host up to 150 seated guests or 250 guests for a cocktail-style wedding.
Do we have to choose one of the wedding packages?
No. You can choose one of our curated wedding packages, build your own celebration, or enquire about venue hire only. The Build Your Own Celebration option allows you to select your menu, décor, canapés, welcome drinks and optional extras separately.
Is venue hire available on its own?
Yes. Venue hire only is available and includes our standard venue inclusions, such as venue staff, key furniture, bar facilities, security, car guards and cleaners. Food, décor, canapés, welcome drinks and optional extras can be added and quoted separately if required.
Is catering included?
Catering depends on the option you choose. Our curated wedding packages include selected menu options, while Build Your Own Celebration bookings allow you to choose from the available menu options and shape your meal around your event.
Can we choose dishes from different menus?
Yes. For Build Your Own Celebration bookings, you can choose dishes from the available menu options rather than being limited to one fixed menu. Your final selection can be confirmed with the team during the enquiry and quoting process.
Can we add canapés?
Yes. Canapés can be added as an optional extra to any wedding package, Build Your Own Celebration booking or venue hire booking.
Can we customise the décor?
Yes. You can choose from the available décor styles or work with the team to create a look that feels more personal to your day. Décor options depend on your selected package or Build Your Own Celebration requirements.
Are welcome drinks included?
Welcome drinks are included in selected packages only. They are not included with the Ivy Essential Package, Build Your Own Celebration bookings or Venue Hire Only bookings, but they can be added as an optional extra.
Is there a licensed bar on site?
Yes. Roof Garden Bar has a fully stocked and licensed cash bar on site. Please note that no outside alcohol may be brought into or taken out of the venue.
Can we bring our own wine, champagne or cake?
Yes. Bottles of wine and champagne may be brought in at a corkage fee of R40 per bottle. Cakes are welcome at no extra cost.
Do you offer dance floor hire?
Yes. Dance floor options can be added as an optional extra where they are not already included. Options include a white dance floor, wooden dance floor or checkered dance floor.
The white dance floor is included in the Radiant Rose and Lily Luxe packages.
What optional extras are available?
Optional extras may include canapés, welcome drinks, dance floor options, DJ sound setup, DJ services, a photo booth and other event extras. These can be selected during the enquiry process and quoted according to your requirements.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
At the moment, access to the venue is via stairs only, and there is no lift access.
Is there parking for guests?
Yes. The venue offers 80 off-street parking spaces for guests, with car guards on site for added safety and security.
What time can we access the venue for setup?
A day rental runs from 10am on the day of the event until 10am the following day. If you need additional setup or strike time, this can be arranged at an extra charge.
What time does the celebration need to end?
Events can run until 11:30pm. Noise must be reduced by 11pm and switched off completely by 11:30pm. Guests must exit the property by 11:30pm.
What is already included at the venue?
The venue includes standard venue staff, key furniture, a standard PA system, bar facilities, security, car guards and cleaners. Selected packages may also include additional food, décor and event extras.
Do you provide a wedding coordinator?
The Roof Garden Bar team will assist with setup logistics, venue-related coordination and planning guidance. This does not replace a full independent wedding planner, but the team will help make sure the venue-side details are properly managed.
How do we check if our wedding date is available?
The best way is to submit a wedding enquiry through the form on this page. The team will then confirm availability and guide you through the next steps.
How do we secure our booking?
A signed venue rental agreement and a 50% non-refundable venue rental payment are required to secure your date. The remaining balance will be confirmed according to the venue rental agreement.
What happens if we need to cancel?
Cancellation refunds depend on how far in advance the cancellation is made. The refund amount will be handled according to the cancellation terms set out in the venue rental agreement.
